Phottix Odin Firmware Update ZA07 is Available
A new firmware update, ZA07, is now available for Phottix Odin TTL Flash Trigger for Canon. It can be downloaded here with instructions, a change log, and upgrade utility. The new firmware features -
- Improved exposure in “Evaluative” metering mode when using bounce flash.
- Improved compatibility with Canon ID/IDs Mark II bodies.
- “Fast Exit” mode added. Instead of pressing the “Set” button several times to exit from editing mode, the Odin’s “On/Off” button can be pressed to return to the main screen.
If you want to order, hop over to our e-store for details. While you’re here, check out this new Phottix Odin Video

Intense Review on the Phottix Odin TTL Trigger for Canon
The Phoblographer ran a long, thorough review on the Phottix Odin TTL Trigger for Canon (link to review here). In short, the author loves the Phottix Odin and his conclusions are -
- Decent build quality
- Exceptional battery life
- The best TTL metering I’ve seen (it’s like you’ve never taken the flash off the camera. And even then it sometimes meters better.)
- A price you really can’t beat: US$330.00 for a Commander and Receiver at the time of writing this post. US$130 for a receiver.
- Extremely easy to use.
- Very portable.
Check out the following video review from the author as well.
For those interested in the trigger, don’t forget that we are selling it to our registered members at huge discount rate,
- Phottix Odin TTL Trigger Set for Canon (1 transmitter+1 receiver), list price HK$2,680-> now HK$2,380 (11%off)
- Photix Odin TTL Receiver Only for Canon (1 receiver), list price HK$980-> now HK$890 (10%off)
Head over to our e-store for more information.

Phottix Strato II Multi 5-in-1 Trigger Set Review by FlashRaw
FlashRaw posted a very thorough review on the all new Phottix Strato II Multi 5-in-1 Trigger Set together with some really nice shots and demonstration pics. The new Strato II line evolved from its much successful Strato I line with cool new features like 4 group selector; screw-down locks for both transmitters & receivers; dedicated On/Off Switches on both transmitters & receivers and improved compatibility with Nikon SB-600 Speedlight.
PASM Workshop is now carrying both the Nikon and Canon versions, sorry Sony lovers, guess you all have to wait a bit. It comes in two different packings. One is the 5-in-1 Tigger Set with a transmitter and receiver (HK$690 list price and PASM price is HK$630) for Canon and Nikon and one is the receiver only set for both Canon and Nikon (HK$345 list price and HK$320 for PASM members and fans). To order, you can (a) buy it online through our Products Page and payment is via Paypal or (b) send your orders to sales@pasm-workshop.com and our sales team will get back to you.
I’m not going into details of the new triggers as FlashRaw did a great job in review it, just extracting their end notes and conclusion here for your reference.
