In Search of the Best Portfolio App for Photographers
Most photographers have to agree that when it comes to showcasing their work, the iPad is indeed the most important way to get their work across to their clients. A good portfolio app is therefore the bread and butter app. When it comes to portolio apps on the iPad, Portfolio (US$9.99) not doubt is still one of the best available, it features -
- Customized branding for the app.
- Support for images, videos, and PDFs.
- Dropbox integration for loading in files.
- Lockable interface allowing the iPad to be passed along without exposing the management interface.
- Multiple galleries and the ability to hide unneeded galleries.
- Slideshows with configuration options for slide duration and soundtrack.
- Ratings and notes editable per image.
- Full screen viewing and browsing or partial screen with a thumbnail strip.
- Zoom in on details in imported photos.
- Comparison mode to bring up two photos at a time.
- Keyword tagging and the ability to filter by keywords and ratings.
- External display support through the VGA adapter or one of the other ones.
For us, the most important factor is how pictures are uploaded into the galleries and the ease to sync the galleries and this is where Portfolio shines.
Other notable apps includes -
